Working at Height Training

Course Objectives

This course is designed for anyone who works at height. This includes working above or below ground level.

To make candidates aware to properly plan and organise working at height.

Understand the need to carry out risk assessments and select appropriate work equipment.

Properly inspect and maintain equipment for working at height.

Target Delegates

Working at a height is defined in the regulations as, work at any place from which a person could fall a distance likely to cause personal injury. The Working at Height training course is designed for operatives who may need to work at a height and require the use of fall arrest equipment, harnesses, ladders or stepladders.

What is woirking at height?
Legislation
Organisation and planning plus risk assessment
How to work at height safely / using specialist equipment
Prevention of falls
Fall arrest and prevention systems
FPPE which includes harness and lanyards
Practical harness fitting and inspections
Safety awareness, including practical exercise
Access to roofs
Safe use of ladders and steps

Duration

Half a day

Certification

Upon successful completion the candidate will receive certification valid for up to 5 years.

Course Assessment

This course is continually assessed throughout the duration with a final theory question paper at the end to confirm understanding.
