Marine Knuckle Boom Crane Training

Course Objectives

Our Marine Knuckle Boom Crane Course is tailored to offer candidates the fundamental knowledge & practical skills to operate a Marine Knuckle Boom Crane.

Target Delegates

For candidates who wish to operate various sizes of Marine Knuckle Boom Cranes, using different types of attachments and remote controls on a waterbourne vessel. You will be able to undertake pre-use inspections, awareness of hazards and your roles and responsibilities.

Course Content

Carrying out pre-start and running checks of the crane
Configure the crane for use
Undertake basic crane operations in order to carry out lifting exercises
Set up crane to carry out lifts at minimum & maximum radii taking in to consideration vessel stability
Lift loads from land or water in accordance with industry practices
Secure loads on to vessels bed in accordance with industry practices
Remove and reattach accessories if required
Place machine in and out of service condition

Duration

Training duration is dependent on the number of candidates, and each candidates previous experience. Courses can be 1-2 days depending on experience.

Certification

On successful completion of the course the candidates will receive either NPORS or Sussex Transport | Training Division accreditation.

Course Assessment

Candidates will be required to undertake a theory and practical assessment.
