We're Sponsoring Team SEASOAR

In the World’s Toughest Row

At Sussex Transport, we’re excited to announce our sponsorship of Team Seasoar in the 2024 Atlantic Challenge—also known as The World’s Toughest Row. This incredible event sees teams row more than 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, from Tenerife to Antigua, in a gruelling test of endurance, teamwork, and resilience. And our logo will proudly appear on the team’s boat, as they undertake this epic challenge for charity.

What is The World’s Toughest Row (Atlantic)?

Organised by the Atlantic Campaigns, the event challenges participants to row across the Atlantic Ocean in row boats (they are not your typical of course because it is the Atlantic Ocean!). The race begins in Tenerife, Spain, and ends in Antigua, Caribbean, covering 3,000 miles of open water. Teams must face unpredictable weather, enormous waves, and the physical demands of rowing 24 hours a day. Often described as the toughest rowing event in the world, this challenge pushes participants to their mental and physical limits, and only those with the highest levels of preparation, grit, and determination make it to the finish line.

The event isn’t just about the physical journey—it’s a monumental mental challenge as well. Participants will face sleep deprivation, isolation, and the relentless demands of life at sea. The self-sufficiency required during the crossing, without any external support, underscores why this event earns its title as The World’s Toughest Row.

You can find more about the event and its incredible challenges by visiting the World’s Toughest Row website.

Meet Team Seasoar

Team Seasoar is a group of four passionate and determined rowers who have set their sights on conquering this formidable challenge. The team will be captained by Niall Brannigan and composed of four rowers who share a drive to complete this incredible feat while raising money for causes close to their hearts. Their journey is not just about achieving personal milestones—it’s about making a difference in the world by supporting two key charities: Lyme Disease UK and The EFT Foundation.

TeamSEASOAR’s participation in the World’s Toughest Row is not just a personal challenge; it’s a heartfelt mission to raise awareness and funds for these two incredible organisations. You can learn more about the team’s journey and the charities they support by visiting their JustGiving page.

Sussex Transport’s Sponsorship

At Sussex Transport, we’ve always been committed to supporting local initiatives, sports, and charity efforts, and this partnership with Team Seasoar is a natural extension of that mission. As sponsors, we are incredibly proud to have our logo displayed on their boat as they undertake this life-changing challenge. Our sponsorship reflects our commitment to teamwork, perseverance, and supporting causes that make a real impact in the community.

Their commitment to this challenge aligns with our values of hard work, resilience, and community involvement. We’re honoured to play a small part in helping them prepare for their journey and wish them every success as they take on the Atlantic.

The Challenge Ahead

The World’s Toughest Row is known for being unpredictable. From massive waves to scorching heat and sleepless nights, the team will face some of the most extreme conditions imaginable. Rowing in two-hour shifts, day and night, the crew will experience mental and physical exhaustion as they navigate the vast Atlantic Ocean. But, through their determination and support from sponsors, they will battle through and, hopefully, cross the finish line in Antigua.

Team Seasoar is expected to row more than 1.5 million strokes over the course of their journey, relying on their teamwork, endurance, and preparation to reach their goal. With every stroke, they will be raising awareness and funds for their charities, turning their challenge into a force for good.
