Last week, Sussex Transport made a dedicated delivery to Glastonbury Festival!
Bar equipment was offloaded from one of their Artic curtain side vehicles, using the attached moffett.
Glastonbury Festival has been running since 1970 and is not only synonymous with great music acts, but with scenes of festival goers covered from top to toe in mud! However, apart from a few brief showers this year, 2011 was said to be a resounding success with acts such as the brilliant Coldplay, Elbow and Beyonce drawing the crowds to the main stage.
Sussex Transport returned this week to the site, to collect and return the equipment to their client in Surrey.
- Don’t have a tent? Why not hire a tipi for the next Glastonbury in 2013? In addition to the ticket price this will set you back £900!
- Splash out on a ‘luxury tent’ which you can pre-book for the event. The price of £3000.00 plus VAT includes Champagne, sheepskin rugs, scatter cushions, real beds, fairy lights and hot water bottles.
- Number of toilets on site …. 3,225 plus a team of 300 people keeping them ‘useable’!
- 11,000,000 litres of water are expected to be used on the site over the main five days of the event.
- This year the standard ticket price was £195. In 1986 it would have cost you £17.00!
- The cost for disposing of all the rubbish left at the festival is a massive £780,000 – that’s just to clear up afterwards!
Sussex Transport have a fleet of HIAB, Moffett, Artics and smaller vehicles together with a team of experienced and dedicated drivers. We would be happy to give you a quote for your next haulage requirement.
