Sussex Transport’s Managing Director, Damian Pulford is meeting with the man who is renowned for the fastest forms of land transport in the UK next month!
Giving a presentation at Northbrook College to local business people, Richard Noble is famed for his land speed world record, which he held between 1983 and 1997 managing to travel across the Nevada Desert at 633.468 mph!
Not content with that speed, – his new challenge is to travel at 1000 mph!
BLOODHOUND SSC (Super Sonic Car) has been designed to run at speeds up to 1,050 mph and being jet and rocket powered has 133,000 ehp (about the same as 180 Formula 1 cars!). They are currently entering the build phase of the programme and plan to roll out at the end of 2011 with an initial shakedown run in the UK. The car will then be reviewed and packaged for shipping to South Africa, aiming for 1,000 mph in 2012.
Is Damian keen to speed up journey times perhaps? Maybe Richard Noble will offer some tips on how to deliver goods faster than the speed of sound!
Sussex Transport are proud to offer a fast, secure and professional dedicated haulage service – driving within the national speed limits of course!
