Last week our dedicated Freight Department delivered a consignment of coffee to Tokyo for one of our new clients.
Most of us would assume that Japan is a nation of tea drinkers and traditionally this has been the case – they are home to the popular green tea which has seen increased sales in the Western world recently. However you may be surprised to learn that coffee is not only more popular in both volume and value terms, but Japan is the seventh-largest coffee retail market in the world!
Japan has seen the number of coffee shops increase hugely in recent years and Starbucks has played a key role in shaping coffee demand. Japan was the company’s first and best performing overseas market outside North America and since their first store opened in 1996, the network of outlets has rapidly increased, due to popular demand and has reached nearly 900 across the country.
Air Freight is a rapidly expanding side of our delivery service, in addition to our already busy Dedicated Road Haulage business. Our client base is growing and we are gaining more business overseas – thanks to the vast experience of our dedicated freight team.
