At Sussex Transport, we boast a fleet of vehicles ranging from small Sprinter vans right through to HIABs for heavy, awkward lifting jobs. With experienced, uniformed drivers we can assure you of a professional and helpful haulage service.
Last week, one of our Sprinter vans made a delivery to Waterloo in London. This area of London is most notable for its railway station and Waterloo Bridge – named after the 1815 battle fought in (present day) Belgium against Napoleon’s army.
Waterloo was also the title of the Swedish entry in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, performed by ABBA. They went on to have 9 UK number one hits after their success at Eurovision.
This year the UK entry into what is now recognised as more of a political show than that of a fun song contest, is none other than old time crooner Engelbert Humperdinck who will be 75 years old in May!
Claiming “It’s an honour. I’m raring to go and I want the nation to get behind me.”, the ‘Hump’ is vowing to win it for the UK…
Engelbert, dubbed the ‘King of Romance’, was a global star, with fan clubs worldwide. He still tours and has an album out this year.
- The United Kingdom is one of the most successful countries to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest.
- We’ve entered every year since 1959, and has won the contest a total of five times. The
- UK has finished as runner-up on a record fifteen occasions.
- The United Kingdom has finished last in three contests. The infamous 2003 “nul points” result was the first time that the country had come last in the contest, something that was then repeated in 2008 and 2010.
Engelbert is 16/1 to be victorious for the UK.
