Sussex Transport regularly delivers to hospitals, schools, universities and prisons throughout the UK in their fleet of HIAB, Artic, 18t, 7.5t, tail lift, curtain side, Moffetts and Sprinter vehicles.
Last week we made a dedicated delivery of medical equipment to St Georges Hospital in Tooting, SW London in a Luton van.
Founded in 1733, St George’s Hospital is one of the UK’s largest teaching hospitals. It shares its main hospital site in Tooting, with the St George’s, University of London which trains NHS staff and carries out advanced medical research.
With around 1,000 beds for patients, St Georges was where comedian Harry Hill qualified as a doctor – before he changed his career to TV Personality!
He decided as a teenager to become a doctor, although has said of the experience ‘I can’t say I ever enjoyed being a doctor. All I remember is being stuck in this bubble – working constantly, the canteen never open when I finally had time to eat. It was weird. All the time I was writing comedy, thinking up acts, working on gags. In my head I genuinely believed that my future would work out OK because one day a man would walk into the hospital with a problem, I would sort him out and he’d be so grateful. He’d then tell me he was a BBC producer and I’d tell him I had ideas for a comedy show and he’d tell me he’d sort it out and that would be it. This was a scenario I clung on to for years.’’
He is now one of the highest paid comedians on British Television!
We like offering transport solutions … and we also like storing goods for customers in our warehouse … but which is best?
We’ll leave you to find out for yourself rather than reverting to Harry’s method of ‘FIGHT!’
