Sussex Transport makes dedicated deliveries on their fleet of Flatbed, 18t, 7.5t, HIAB, Moffett and Sprinter vehicles up and down the UK on a daily basis.
Last week we made a dedicated delivery to Heathrow, on one of our Flatbed Artics on behalf of a regular customer from Lancing, West Sussex.
This year’s snowfall has not had an impact on any of our delivery times yet. This time last year ‘heavy’ snowfall (9cm) caused the closure of roads and airports across the country.
Heathrow suffered one of the largest incidents of all time; 4,000 flights were cancelled over five days and 9,500 passengers spent the night at Heathrow on 18 December following the initial snowfall.
The problems were caused not only by snow on the runways, but also by snow and ice on the 198 parking stands which were all occupied by aircraft.
While we are prepared for the wintry weather here at Sussex Transport, we are hoping it will pass by with minimum disruption over the coming months.
