Family run, successful haulage company Sussex Transport delivers a multitude of goods on their fleet of HIAB, Artic, Moffett, Flatbed, Curtain side, 18t, 7.5t and Sprinter vehicles.
Last week, we made a dedicated delivery of goods to Portsmouth dockyards. 3 crates of lighting systems were offloaded from one of our 7.5t trucks and we were happy to make the delivery to HMS St Albans which has just returned from six months at sea!
Hundreds of sailors onboard both HMS St Albans and HMS Edinburgh arrived back in Portsmouth in time for the Christmas holidays at the beginning of the month.
Arriving home from the Middle East and the South Atlantic to a heroes welcome of some 600 people, waving flags and banners, one sailor got down on a bended knee and proposed to his girlfriend as he arrived to meet her. (she said ‘yes’ !)
In June, while policing busy shipping lanes off Oman, HMS St Albans rescued 13 crewmen from a stricken Indian tanker. The crew had sent a Mayday email, picked up in the UK, to report that their vessel had been taking on water. The warship went to the tanker’s aid and its helicopter winched the seasick crewmen to safety in rough seas.
On returning to Hampshire the two warships first sailed past the Round Tower, before arriving at Portsmouth naval base.
We wish all our clients past, current and future a very Merry Christmas. Please feel free to contact us should you require a haulage solution moving into 2012.
