FORS Gold accredited haulier Sussex Transport promotes safe driving, vulnerable road user awareness and ensuring all drivers are trained and refreshed on safe driving & best practice
All vehicles are fitted with cameras, sensors and alarms – we are a huge fan of being as safe as we can be on the roads!
Back in March of this year, Dudley Rae contacted our Lancing based head office to see if we would like to help sponsor him. His intention? to be part of the Motorscape Rally 2016 and travel through 12 countries, in 7 days in a car which cost him no more than £300 – finishing in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
Participating in this rally will allowDudley to raise much needed funds and awareness for the Safe Driving Charity, ‘’Think Amy’’ proving to newly qualified and younger drivers that you can have fun in a car “safely”
Sussex Transport invests heavily in promoting safe driving – we’ve equipped all of our lorries with side sensors, cameras, alerts and alarms to ensure vulnerable road users safety and that our drivers are alert and aware of who they are sharing the road with.
We decided that Dudley’s mission was very relevant to our business and made perfect sense to sponsor him – and our logo now features on the car!
This task is made even more of a challenge for Dudley as he suffered a brain tumour in 2013 which resulted him losing his sight entirely in one eye and very limited use in the other.
A former resident of Worthing, West Sussex, Dudley now lives in Torquay and advertised locally for a driver to accompany him on the trip and Josh Trebilcock obliged! Together they set off last weekend on their journey – stopping briefly at Sussex Transport on their way to Dover to introduce themselves and have some photos taken!
We all wish Dudley and Josh every success in completing this mission! Follow them on their journey on www.facebook.com/Vikingwarriors32
