We’ve recently completed the last of 20 deliveries into London for a European glass manufacturer who contracted us to offload and store 6 months worth of glass for a build in central London.
There were many problems we solved with our London clearing house and haulage service.
- The European Haulier was not able to deliver straight into London for various reasons including a FORS requirement on the site
- The access to site and unload space wasn’t large enough for articulated vehicles
- The site was not yet ready for delivery
- It was far simpler for the contractor to receive the windows in batches.
So… four Euroliners were unloaded at our Facility in Crawley using one of our HIAB crane vehicles along with the warehouse forklifts. The pallets were then carefully seperated, labelled, re-strapped and located by the team.
After a short delay the glass started being called to site, and our 12t and 18t drivers and fleet fast became known to the contractors and site security. The relationships our drivers and planning team built with the site contractors ensured timely deliveries and unloads with zero fuss throughout the process.
The contractor even described the service as “priceless”.
