Over a year ago, in March 2021 we watched Episode 1 of ITV’s Grace as the series aired on UK TV. We then got all excited for a week, and the following Sunday we told the team to settle in and watch Episode 2. But it didn’t appear. We still don’t exactly know why…
As such we’ve waited a long time to tell you about this one. The second episode of ITV’s Grace made its way to the TV screens this past Sunday. And we finally saw our handy work on primetime.
Unfortunately, we didn’t see our trucks or drivers on the television (but we knew that) so you’ll just have to take our word for it.
What is ITV’s Grace?
Wikipedia reports: Grace is a British crime drama series, starring John Simm in the title role and based on the bestselling DSI Roy Grace novels by novelist Peter James.
The first series, comprising the films Dead Simple and Looking Good Dead, was adapted for television by acclaimed screenwriter Russell Lewis. It was filmed in Brighton and Hove, and other locations in and around East Sussex, during 2020, for broadcast in 2021. Dead Simple, broadcast in March 2021, attracted an estimated 7.2m viewers, which made it the fifth-most-watched programme for the week of 8–14 March, according to BARB.
In May 2021, Grace was commissioned for a second series. Filming started in September 2021 in the West Sussex town Burgess Hill. It adapted the novels Not Dead Enough, Dead Man’s Footsteps and Dead Tomorrow.
Broadcast of series two commenced in the UK on 24 April 2022, with Looking Good Dead, which was shown in the United States nearly a year earlier as the second episode of the first series but opened a four-week run billed as the second series on ITV.
What did we do?
As soon as we got a call from the local ITV team about the shooting location and requirements ST containers (our container sales and hire division) leapt into action to source the perfect shipping containers, then subsequently supplied three shipping containers for use on the set.
After the site visits, lifting plans and risk assessments were carried out by our appointed person the containers were secured, cleaned and prepared for their TV debuts. The Sussex Transport hiab lorry loader team delivered the containers to site, positioned them carefully in the warehouse, and also stayed on set during the first morning of filming to do some last-minute tweaks as instructed by the episode director team.
