Chichester was the destination this week for one of our fleet of HIAB vehicles when The University of Chichester requested our services to move a large container within it’s campus! We were only too happy to oblige. A HIAB vehicle is ideal for moving cabins and containers and forms a large part of our daily workload.
The University of Chichester started life in 1839 and from 1873 primarily ran as a teacher training college for women. Now it spans over three sites; the Bishop Otter site in Chichester , three buildings at the site in Bognor Regis and The Alexandra Theatre in Chichester.
In 2004 an old piano which was found in the University’s chapel and hadn’t been used for years was discovered to be a Steinway Centennial ‘Fancy D’ grand piano dating from 1877, and thought to be the oldest instrument of its kind in Europe!
The PE teacher training course at Chichester is one of the largest in the country and accounts for one in five of all trained PE teachers!
