Last week we moved a container, for one of our clients, from Crawley to Brighton on one of our HIAB trucks.
It’s not just a container that was moved from Crawley to Brighton – in the same week, news broke that Crawley Town Football Club’s Head of Youth, Simon Rusk is moving to his new role with Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club as coach of their under-18 team.
Last May, Simon helped set up Crawley’s new Centre of Excellence after being appointed into his role by manager Steve Evans when the club was promoted to the Football League. Since then he has done an outstanding job nurturing the under-18s, many of whom have played reserve-team football this season thanks to Simon’s coaching skills. Crawley Town are disappointed that Simon is leaving, stating that he played a big part in setting up their Centre of Excellence and he leaves with their very best wishes.
Simon said: “I have loved every minute of my time at the club, both as a player and in my role with the Centre of Excellence and I look forward to coming back to the Broadfield in future as Crawley Town will always mean a lot to me. The Gaffer gave me a fantastic opportunity and I will always be grateful.”
Albion’s head of football operations David Burke commented, “A number of the staff and myself had been aware of Simon since he retired from playing last year and became centre of excellence coach at Crawley. He is an enthusiastic young coach with new ideas and excellent coaching credentials, but most importantly he fits the profile of the type of coach we wanted to recruit.”
