The Wilderness Festival is held yearly at Cornbury Park an estate near Charlbury in Oxfordshire, it comprises of approx 5000 acres consisting of mainly farmland and woods. Cornbury in days gone by was a royal hunting estate and the park was first mentioned in the Domesday book as a demesne forest of the King, which was used for the hunting of deer.
Cornbury Park is currently the home of Robin Cayzer, 3rd baron Rotherwick, a conservative hereditary peer who now runs it as a business and for several years has sponsored the Cornbury Music Festival and now the Wilderness Festival.
Wilderness Festival is a boutique UK music festival, laying on an easy-going programme of music, theatre, art, comedy and incredible food and drink at its lakeside woodland setting in the Oxfordshire countryside.
Take a stroll around its site and you’ll come across sets from international artists from across the spectrum (Robyn, Bombay Bicycle Club and Groove Armada will headline 2019’s festival), as well as a variety of woodland fun, including immersive games, eccentric theatre, paddle yoga, workshops, talks, debates and even a lakeside spa.
This is all held within a secluded, natural setting, which means Wilderness is the perfect weekend to escape your daily life and run wild in the creative wilderness…. What are you waiting for?
