With a fleet of Artics, HIABs, 18t, Curtain Siders and other smaller trucks and vans, Sussex Transport are proud to be involved with the 2012 Olympics, transporting building materials and equipment for various events in the lead up to the summer event.
One such booking we have taken is to deliver horse jumps to the equestrian events being held at Greenwich Park.
Back in July last year, we assisted with deliveries to Greenwich Park in readiness for a test event and are excited to once again be involved with a delivery on one of our Artic Lorries
The test event was successful in introducing Equestrian and an iconic venue to the residents and school children of Greenwich. The three-day competition also gave riders and horses a taste of what to expect at the Games in 2012 while allowing organisers to perform vital tests.
The eyes of the world will be on London on 27 July 2012 for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. There are certain elements that must feature in every Olympic Games Opening Ceremony:
- Receiving the Head of State of the Host Country
- Parade of Athletes
- Speeches
- Playing the Olympic Anthem and the entry and
raising of the Olympic Flag - Oaths
- The Torch and lighting of the Cauldron
The big finale is the entrance of the Olympic Flame into the Stadium. It is passed through the athletes to the final Torchbearer, who will ceremoniously light the Olympic Cauldron, indicating the beginning of the Games. The Olympic Flame will continue to burn for the whole of the Games.
The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) has announced that the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games will be titled ‘A Symphony of British Music’.
We look forward to being a part of this great event throughout 2012
