Once a year, the world’s duty free and travel retail industry meets in Cannes for five days of idea-sharing, business development and networking.
Each time we send 4 of our artics (and drivers), along with a logistics team overseas for a little bit of sunshine… but don’t be fooled into thinking we are giving them a holiday in the sun it is actually a lot of hard work.. or so they would have you believe!!
For well over 6 months leading up to September we prepare, organise and carry out freight organisation work for a collection of prestigious clients who exhibit at the TFWA show in Cannes. And whilst we are there, we are a critical cog in a very busy exhibition machine that stretches across multiple venues, hotels and sub-events. The work doesn’t stop when we return either as we complete inbound freight paperwork and relocating of the goods that are returned. After all that it is nearly time to start again.

The vehicles have staggered loading days with the first one loading in the UK on the Monday, travelling on the Tuesday and arriving in Cannes on the Wednesday, the second artic loads on the Tuesday and arrives on the Thursday, the third artic loads on the Wednesday and arrives on the Friday, the final artic is loaded on the Friday and to meet its delivery window on the Saturday morning has to be double manned with two drivers so as to legally abide by drivers driving hours and mandatory rest breaks.
