The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, formally known as the Great Spring Show, is a garden show held for five days in May (21st-25th) by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London. The Show has been continuously held at Chelsea since 1912, apart from gaps during the two World Wars. Once Britain’s largest flower show (it has now been overtaken by RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show), it is still the most prestigious and the most famous flower and landscape gardens show in the United Kingdom, and perhaps in the world. The show is attended by members of the British Royal Family and attracts visitors from all continents.
Highlights of the Chelsea Flower Show include the avant-garde show gardens designed by leading names with Floral Marquee at the centrepiece. The Show also features smaller gardens such as the Artisan and Urban Gardens.
Today, the Chelsea Flower Show, continues to go from strength to strength and has formed strong bonds with a myriad of designers and sponsors, and continues to be the world’s most famous flower show at the very cutting edge of garden design. With a Main Avenue packed with top names and the Great Pavilion bursting with exhibitors, the 2019 show is shaping up to be one of the best yet.
