Recently we were tasked to lift, secure, transport and deliver an extremely special concrete slab from Hampshire to Leeds. We can’t tell you what the slab is for I’m afraid but when the time is right you will know.
At 11 metres long, 3.7 metres wide and weighing in at 11,000kg the makers of the slab needed some help. Luckily they found the experts.
A site survey and discussion is critical. The lift then is planned and RAMS (risk assessments/method statements) follow. Where required the route and timings are approved by the respective authorities and then we can send in the dream team (well that’s what they call themselves anyway). Our highly qualified Appointed Person, an extremely skilled hiab crane lorry loader team and our escort vehicle.
With the right spreader beam, the initial lift was completed without fuss and the slab secured to the vehicle. The journey from Hampshire to Nr Leeds West Yorkshire took place and our driver offloaded with care and skill ensuring our customer and their customer got exactly the service they’d hoped for and are used to.
