We were lucky enough to find a wonderful gap in the rain to complete our practical assessments on the latest ALLMI training course carried out for our friends at Landbuild last week.
Landbuild is a Civil engineering contractor specializing in, groundworks and drainage covering Sussex, Hampshire and South East England.
The team attended a 2-day Novice ALLMI operators’ course hosted and provided by Sussex Transport’s Andy Packham. Andy is an ALLMI Board Member and provides a full range of plant training including CPCS, NPORS & ALLMI through our training division.
ALLMI state “The ALLMI Operator course consists of 15 modules and is either one or two days in duration (depending on whether the candidate is a novice or experienced operator).
Both the one and two-day courses culminate in a written and practical examination. ALLMI is notified (by Andy) of all courses in advance of the training taking place (via ALLMI’s online registration system), so that unannounced instructor audits can be carried out. The assessment process is set by ALLMI and administered by the instructor.
It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessments consist of a set of core multiple choice and ‘open’ questions, as well as questions which relate specifically to the crane attachment being used. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to operate a lorry loader safely and efficiently.”
Once the course is completed successfully, the newly trained operators will receive their official identity cards and certification. Andy will then update and register the users on the ALLMI operator database.
The below pictures show us putting members of the Landbuild team through their paces with Lanbuild’s brand-new Volvo 8-wheeler rigid fitted with a Palfinger crane.
