When Sussex Transport were approached to collect and deliver a rusty railway coach from a quarry in Gloucestershire to Sussex, we immediately confirmed that one of our HIAB vehicles could assist. Our client emailed a map together with an aerial photograph of the area and clear instructions for accessing the site where the coach was waiting to be collected.
Within days, the backload / return load delivery was made to Amberley Museum, Sussex Transport received an email as follows…
Dear Sussex Transport
I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thanks very much for the exceptional service doing the Coleford to Amberley job today, I really couldn’t have asked for anything more! Everything has gone smoothly and the job done promptly, it was after all, only this time last week that I first got in contact (I’ve been waiting over 2 months for one of your competitors to get round to doing this job!). Also my thanks to Peter the driver, he got in touch when promised and arrived dead on time, he made unloading so easy and we were packed away just before the heavy rain came down.
I’ll certainly bear you in mind for other jobs in the future, indeed we have a similar (but lighter) load forthcoming from North Devon (near Barnstaple) to Amberley, I’m happy to put our guy dealing with this in touch with you if you think it might be a suitable backload job sometime in the future.
Anyway, once again, thank you all very much indeed, I’m very impressed!
Sussex Transport later picked up the job mentioned in this email and successfully transported a dismantled stream train from Devon to Sussex!
