As 2016 draws to a close, we look back on what has been another success story for Sussex Transport.
At the start of 2016 we took delivery of two more custom built HIAB lorries to add to our fleet; XS477ED-5 HiPro – with a maximum reach of 15.4m (lifting 2.5t) and maximum lift of 12t (at 3.4m) and a HIAB XS622E-8 HiPro with a maximum reach of 20m (lifting 2t) and maximum lift of 22t (at 2.1m).
Sussex Transport are pleased to sponsor a number of worthy causes. We continue to be a proud sponsor of Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance as well as local charity Worthing Churches Homeless project.
This year we also supported Dudley Rae in his mission to raise awareness of safe driving charity ‘’Think Amy ‘’ The charity’s purpose is to raise awareness of the consequences of driving dangerously and encouraging drivers (especially new and young drivers) to drive safely.
Being a FORS gold accredited haulage firm (we now have a Best Practice specification to work to) all of our new vehicles come with 4 way recordable camera systems, close proximity warning systems, turn-left alarms and VRU signage to ensure we are as safety conscious as possible on today’s busy roads. ..So Dudley’s mission seemed a great, relevant charity for us to support!
Dudley – who is partially sighted, navigated through 12 different countries from Torquay to Prague, a distance of over 3000 miles there and back – and all in a car that can cost no more than £300.
2016 also saw our Artic fleet being upgraded with six brand new trailers – proudly displaying our company name -they are not easy to miss!!
We’ve been all over the UK and Europe this year; from the Glastonbury Festival in thick mud to a hot, sunny Cannes in the south of France. Wimbledon Tennis deliveries to Brighton Half Marathon water bottle drop offs!
Towards the end of this year we supported The Martlets Hospice in Hove to install and take out 44 ‘Snowdog’ sculptures as part of a fund raising art trail – At the end of the campaign the dogs were auctioned off to raise money for The Martlets. In total the 44 Snowdogs sold for £337,900! This money has provided a great deal of resources to help Martlets Hospice provide life changing hospice care.
In addition to a wealth of new clients, some fantastic feedback from our customers, our dedicated, loyal staff and industry recognised awards and accreditation’s, Sussex Transport is really going from strength to strength and we take this opportunity to wish all our customers, suppliers, staff and future clients a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year!
